Bird: One more shot of the Nuthatcher(White-Breasted)
The weekenders are all ways a bit more messy than the older RVers,
Test Shot: Playing with Photobucket this morning. Here is a shot of a Western Bluebird.
I have been playing with Flickr for some months now and I have had a Photobucket account for years and my biggest complaint is that they both keep changing things. Fine , make it better but don’t completely make everything work different!
Duty Calls: I got to go play with the campers
Time for a little break in the day: I don’t have much to do but I spend a lot of time watching for things to do 😉 Weekenders are here and I will have some cleaning to do after they leave tomorrow, but that is okay, it gives me something to do.
Bird: Here is another Nuthatch(White-breasted). Look at them big feet.
Exercise: I have not been getting to it, I got to get on the ball.
Short again today.
Weather: Today is the kind of day I’m here for, sunshine, mind wind and a prefect temperature, a fine day indeed.
Update; The day ends with a little rain.
Bird: Here is another Nuthatch (White-Breasted)
Computers: Today I’m playing on the Ubuntu Computer, always fun to switch it up. I still have not found a good speech engine for Ubuntu, the best I can do is to open Google Translator in a new tab and use it. Google Translator is not the best ideal because it first much upload to Google and than Translator and download from Google, which uses bandwidth both ways, would be best to have it stay in house.
Soda: I have loss my battle and I’m drinking soda again 😦 It sure taste good. Should I renew the fight? It did not help with weight as best I can tell. However, I may renew the fight, it is not good for you. I have been back drinking soda for about a week now.
No Walking again today: I have not done so much around the camp ground today either, a days rest is okay now and again 🙂
Update my Bird of the Week: Or month? This is a White-breasted Nuthatcker.
Chores: The thing about chores is, they are never really done are they? I guess that is what makes them chores. At any rate, I did a few this morning, like laundry and shopping.
Slower day: Today will be a bit slower than the weekend and give me time to catch my breath. Always something to do around a camp ground but things are not as pressing when the camp ground is not super busy, like on this pass holiday weekend.
I did get a couple things done around the camp ground today but over all I’m taking it easy today.
RV: My kitchen sink stopped draining and I had to pull it apart to see what was going on. You would think that the trap would be stop-up but that was not the case, the design of the drainage system dose not have enough slop on it and my pipe was stopped-up before it even got to the trap. Lucky for me, it pulled apart easy, and at any rate I got it cleared out and it is working fine now.
The plumbing in these RVs are dirt simple and you would think that the design would not be hard but I guess in the interest of time and money shortcuts was in order when mine was built
Staying busy: As we go through the holiday weekend the camp ground is staying busy with folks coming and going steadily. Today there will be a mass exit as people will have to get back to work tomorrow, after having a fun time this weekend. At any rate, it’ll keep me going for today.
Update 4pm; I have gotten pretty much caught up for today but I had to keep busy to do it. Shouldn’t be this busy again till the 4th of July.
Tablet: My tablet is getting a lot more use this weekend. I’m in and out so much that I don’t have a lot of time to set down with the computers. The tablet is just too handy to pick up and add a few lines to the blog, looking something up on Google or checking the weather. Just a few years ago you could have never convinced me that I would be using a tablet so much, they are just so handy. My friend that just left, had a Windows Tablet and it make me think about getting one but Windows Tablets just don’t act ready for prime time to me. Many of them don’t even have GPS built-in, and looking around the net I don’t see a go to map/navigation app for Windows Tablets, speech recognition seems to be pathetic to me, Android and Apple seems to be far ahead with speech when comparing. What is with Windows and all the Training you need to do with speech to get it to understand you! And even with the training Windows, my Android does a much better job at recognizing my southern drawl then Windows does. With Android or Apple you just pick them up and start talking! I think maybe some of the higher cost Windows Tablets are much nicer but for a lot less money I can get an Android Tablet that does all a Tablet needs to do, and does it well. Do you have to train Windows phones for speech? A good Google question, I’ll look it up.
Walk: I have not walked today for exercise but I walk plenty around the camping area, for sure enough to call it exercise.
Birds: I have a few Black-chinned Hummers coming to my feeders and I happy to report that the Bullock’s Oriole have follow me over to my new location, I have at least one male and one female coming to the feeder.
Gate: One of my camp ground chores here over the pass week has been to open the gate to the park at 6am each morning and that gets me woke up each morning in the cool air. I kind of like the early morning because it is peaceful and quite with few people moving about just yet, the birds are chipper and full of energy and the sun it’s just getting the lights on.
Walking: My friend hit the road today, so I’m taking a day off from walking other than the walking I do around the camp ground as I do my thing. That does add up to a good bit of walking too.
Mobile Browsers: I try hard to use Firefox as a mobile browser but it is just not as smooth, or as fast as my Dolphin browser. Dolphin loads faster and seems to run better in about all cases, but still I use Firefox a good bit, because it does have far better plugins.
Firefox on a Windows machine is the absolute best choice, as far I’m concerned.
Cooler: Today and the next few days are to be cooler weather with highs only in the 60s, with rain and clouds too. Looking at the weather forecast, this looks like it will be the normal for the next week. The rain will be good, could do without the cooler temperatures No matter all is well, if I’m out I’ll be moving around enough to stay warm and if I’m in I’ll be toasty inside the RV.
Update 2pm; The day is beautiful but it is getting a little cloudy.
Ubuntu: I have not played with Ubuntu and the old computer for a while now, so I got it out today. I don’t guess I’ll learn much blogging though
Short post today.
Leak: I’ve got a leak …. again! I have an area on the roof that leaks about every year, No matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to stop it permanently. I seen to always get an immediate fix, but it don’t hold over the long run. The trouble area is a sky light over the shower (a useless thing). I inspect it all the time but never see where it going to leak till it does. For now it it cover up, in later maybe it’ll get dry enough to work on.
Update; I did a little patching on the roof and hopefully I found the right spot. Sadly I won’t know till the next rain, which will be later today, probably.
Walk: I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 2.27mi, time: 48:52, pace: 21:30min/mi, speed: 2.79mi/h. Caught a break in the rain.
Sunny morning: but the afternoon will probably have some more rain. Maybe I’ll have time to patch my roof, if it’ll hold off for about another hour.
Busy day : in the camp ground, lots of folks coming for the weekend.
Good start: The morning has started out beautifully but the weatherman says we have 60% chance of rain today. Humidity is already high and my bones feel it. The rain is really needed here in the southwest, it is very dry and the fire dangers are extremely high. It is a holiday weekend and many folks won’t appreciate the rain, even if we do need it.
Update 1:30pm: We got rain and hail started and it feels like it might be a good one. This will make a lot of NM folks happy, well the ones in its path. This rain is mostly in the north-east part of the State.
Walk: Waiting on my friend to show up, he has been walking with me everyday. Always good to have someone to walk with, it keeps you motivated.
My friend will be leaving this weekend and I’ll miss having him around.
Update: I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 2.32mi, time: 54:41, pace: 23:37min/mi, speed: 2.54mi/h. Walk done.
As usual doing my camp hosting thing, I’m sure that I added another mile or maybe two.
