Butterfly

Pictures: This Butterfly stopped by on a windy day just for a rest I think.

Exercise: My friend Jeanne took a rare day off from walking so I decided to climb a Wing Mountain! It was a 6.3 mile walk with a 1300 feet gain, a good walk.

Group: We are up to 5 campers in our little group now πŸ™‚

  1. I think the butterfly is a Swallowtail Butterfly. I see them quite often in my yard here in Florida. However, the veins in your picture come up as red/orange but in my photos they come up as black.
I looked up Wing Mountain. What I found was Wing Mountain in Arizona in the Coconino National Forest. Is that where you were? Or are there more than one Wing Mountain?

    1. Form looking at my field guide The Butter fly is a Western Tiger Swallowtail as best as I can tell. I am near the Wing Mountain, you have the right place. There is a nice little valley on the top of the mountain πŸ™‚
