Not speaking to You

Pictures: A shot of a couple Pinyon Jays at the birdbath for a little drink. Wonder what is in their minds? I have noticed that the beak of the Pinyon Jays have a bit of a rough spot on the top side near their heads, I have seen this on many of them, and I am not sure why this is. Anyone know?

Exercise: I did walk this morning but I felt very wore down, maybe I need a break. Exercise page updated.

Passing By: I have seen a group of Turkey pass by this morning (Maybe 8 or 10) And a stray dog. The dog was likely dropped off by someone and maybe mistreated, it would not allow me near. It was a small Collie, not likely to do well out in the woods here. The Collie had come by for a drink out of my Birdbath but unfortunately, I had covered the birdbath with a plastic bag this morning trying to fight off a mess of bees that had been coming to it. A bee stung me on my big toe when I went out in my flip-flops this morning, ouch!
If the bees keep getting as thick as this morning I may have to take the birdbath down. They are getting on my Humming feeder too but it is the one with the slits instead of the holds, made to be, Bee resistant.

Weather: We have had a couple of nice days with the temperatures getting to mid 80s with just a little lite wind, which ain’t bad.

Have a nice day folks.

Before and After

Pictures: A few snap shots taken with the phone and camera of the truck before and after of other areas(not cause by wreck) I had fixed while it was in the shop.

The areas of the wreck have been repaired but I also got three other things fixed too, one was on the other side of the truck where I once had mudflaps and someone clipped me in a parking lot breaking it loose and chipping out where it was attached.

Before, with chips and a little mud.

After, no more chips but still a little mud 🤔

After, no more clipped paint but I still have lots of bugs and a little mud 🤔

The Mirror, truck bed and fender from the wreck are all fixed too.

New Spot: The area where I am parked is very quiet and peaceful but this morning I talked with the Game Warden and hunting season is about to start(Bow and Arrow) and he says I will surely have company. Hopefully not too much, and if I am lucky they won’t be drinking and parting too. I know I have met a few hunters that drink and party as much they hunt! But … 🤞🤞

Exercise : I walked today and rode the E-bike a bit, exercise page updated.

Everyone have a nice day.

The Truck is Home

Pictures: Here is a shot of the RV/Truck in the National Forest where I moved today, a fine little spot! I think this is part of El Maples National Conservation area. The old can in the photo is something that someone has been using to burn stuff in and the white can you see on left side the photo is just my bird bath water can. There is other stuff laying around too and I’ll try to pick up some of it and dispose of it. Some other full-time RVers and I often try to leave a place looking a bit better then we found it.

Truck: Well I got my truck back yesterday evening about 4:30 or 5 and then had to go into the city and settle up with the body shop and then do some much needed shopping. I got back to the RV about 8 pm and by the time I put food away it was dark. This morning I unloaded my tool box that I had left set behind the RV while the truck was being fixed and and loaded the tool box into the truck and mounted it back in place and then put all the tools back in the tool box. I then loaded my ladder and another smaller tool box I keep and other things that live in the truck bed. Next I had to figure out how and where to load the E-bike, which ended up in the bed of the truck where the peddle bike always went and of course I then had to find a place for the peddle bike which ended up on the back of the RV. Next it was hookup the RV to the truck and off to the dump to empty the waste tanks and then to the potable water to fill my fresh water tank. I had not did any laundry for a while so I stopped in Thoreau to do my Laundry on my way to the National Forest which is due west of the State park on the other side of the lake, likely about 40 miles drive in all. By the time I got to the spot where I wanted to go and set up/unloaded/unhooked it was near 4pm.
So ….. The truck is back and I have gotten moved, all is well!

Exercise : I think all the loading and moving was all the exercise I wanted for the day!!! My back is smarting a bit from all the heavy lifting but hopefully it’ll be okay by tomorrow.

Truck : I am waiting for a call …….
Update: They called but I still have to wait for a ride ….. Let you know how it all goes tomorrow.

Exercise: I am going to take the morning off in hopes that my truck will be ready and if so I will get plenty exercise getting the tool box back mounted, tools back in the box and everything else loaded.

Good Day

Rufous in the Rain

Truck : Waiting patiently for the call that my truck is done and they are on the way to pick me up to get it(they said it would be afternoon). They give me a ride home when I drop it off and they are going to give me a ride to pick it up, I appreciate that 🙂 .

Exercise: I walk this morning just to take some of the energy off my mind. Exercise page updated.

Update: DAMN! Another day on the truck! Had to talk with the ranger again, beginning to feel like a bum with this asking to stay longer over and over 😖 ! The folks at the body-shop even offer to loan me a truck but hopefully, this will be over soon. The ranger was okay with me staying yet another day too, so I’ll just do that.

I have lots of support from folks but I am not one that likes to lean on others, and I feel bad when I have to do so.

Computer: Well great, my computer just lock up tighter than a jug, had to pull the battery out to get it unlocked. This is likely hardware failure, hope this thing doesn’t quit on me just now. Running good now …. so hopefully, it was just a one-off thing.

Hope your day is going better than mine!

Woodpecker

Pictures: Here is a shot of the Hairy Woodpecker coming by for a seed or two. I miss part of his tail in this shot, little too close, which is a good thing in photographing birds I guess.

Truck: I talked with the body-shop this morning on the phone and it is likely I will have my truck by tomorrow evening. It’ll be good to have the other half of my home 🙂 .

Exercise: Today would have normally been my day off but with getting the truck back tomorrow evening and needing to move right away, having to find a new loading plan with the added bike, I am going to have a busy day coming up soon that may not allow time for exercising. So I exercised this morning and will likely do so tomorrow morning and that will give me the option of a day off later on this week if needed.

Weekend: Well, the weekend campers are here and having fun …. making noise, smoke and running the roads, LOL. I wish I was one of them again.

Truck: One of the things that is taking the truck longer to come home is that I am also having a few ding and bangs that I picked up over the years fixed while it is in the shop. The tailgate I messed up about 3 years ago, had a small chip out of my right side fender where someone tapped me in a parking lot, and a few paint chips missing on the plastic above the front bumper from road degree and maybe power spraying in the car wash. At any rate, I got all 3 of these added for only $600.00 and I had other repair shops ask me that much and more just for the tailgate. Of course, body shops make a nice chunk of money when they get insurance to pay for bigger repairs and are often open to adding small repairs at better prices, glad I knew this.
But … that was all in the plan from the start. The shop just run into other problems like workers off that was unplanned and maybe repairs that had to be done ahead of me seeing as they do all the state vehicle repairs for the area. I don’t know for sure but it is just taking a bit more time than expected. Hopefully by Monday/Tuesday.

I would be upset if this particular shop didn’t have such a good reputation with the locals. Hopefully, they will be just as good for an out-of-townee 😉 . I think they will, I like the people at the shop, they have a good attitude and are always very helpful when I am working with them on all the paperwork and stuff. I think using the shop that does the state repairs helped me with getting my claim done with the state. They all knew each other, making the trust factor higher for all.

The head ranger here in the state park knows the folks at the repair shop too, so that is likely a helpful thing in getting my stay here extended beyond the normal two weeks. Of course, I always take the time to say hello and be friendly with the park rangers wherever I go and that may have been helpful, at any rate, Thank you Park Rangers for your help and consideration!

I must say I am finding the state staff members at all levels to all be very helpful.

Too Chatty: Dang, I am way to chatty today 😮 !

Good Afternoon Folks.

Mr House Finch

Pictures: Here is a shot of a Male House Finch.

Truck: Sad to say it will be in the shop till Monday or Tuesday 😟 . Well I guess sometimes things can’t be helped.

E-Bike: I have brought the used E-Bike I spoke of the other day and I am enjoying it a lot. It is a RadRover (Fat bike, which means it has very fat tires) made by Rad Power Bikes. It has about 500 miles on it and is a 2018 model. I got the bike at about half the new price of one, which I thought was a good deal. The guy I brought this from was a cool guy that called the Rad Power Bike company and inform them he had sold it and that allowed me to be registered with them as the new owner. I was later told by another Rad Bike owner that was a good thing because it would allow me to buy parts and get tech help(over the phone thing) from them. I was told that they won’t sell you parts if not registered with them, this way someone that may have gotten a midnight discount(stole one) would not be able to get parts from the Rad Power Bike company. I have not verified this but was told this by an ex-owner of two, both of which he give to his daughter.
At any rate, I am enjoying the E-bike and I hope it holds up well. 🙂

Now, just where am I going to haul this new bike and what I am to do with the other bike???? Keep both? It will be hard for me to ride the other one(pedal power bike) while the E-bike(electric power) one is setting around 🤔 . So, I will likely need to give it away because it would be hard to sell a low end pedal bike, well low end from a bicycle shop but far batter then a Walmart bike. I’ll have to think on it a while.

Everyone have a nice evening.

The Look
