Another Grosbeak

Pictures: Here is another shot of the Black-headed Grosbeak.

Moved: Yesterday I packed-up/hooked-up the RV and went into town, did my chores and hit the road south. I am now at an elevation of about 4000 feet(1,219.2 m) and the weather is much nicer here. Of course, it won’t last long but it should be a few weeks before it gets into the 20s and 30s at night. It was hitting the 30s up north and this weekend the weather man was giving 20s and that made up my mind for me about moving.

I worry about a trip before I get started but after I am on the road a bit I settle in and start enjoying the drive and looking forward to the new area. The drive down was about 5 or 6 hours(I stop a lot and take my time on the back-roads) and after chores yesterday I didn’t get started till noon, so I got here about 6pm. A good trip down 🙂. I am looking forward to some new birds, hopefully anyway 🙂.

Birds: I am in one of the park that has a good birding trail and had a good walk on it this morning. It has an old dead and tall tree on it that the birders all call the predator tree because it always has a hawk of some kind in it and this morning it had a Prairie Falcon, so pictures later on this week. There was another dead tree that was full of Buzzards, so I think I will call it the Old Buzzard Tree. I have pictures of that too.

Weather: Looks like I got here just in time for a rain and it is just now getting started at 12:30 pm. I am glad I came yesterday instead of today, I don’t much like driving in the rain.

Update: The rain was not much, more like a sprinkle and a short one at that.

Have a nice day folks.
