Lazy Sunday

A lazy Sunday, indeed. I went to visit a friend of my in another RV park today and set around for an hour or two. I have talked with a couple of friends on the phone today, too. Other than that, not much happening for me today.

Weather is running around 90Β°, and that is great for a summer day here in lower NM.

I feel the need to accomplish something or another, tomorrow. Not sure what it will be, but I feel that I must. Just getting too relaxed, and I still have lots to do around the RV. If I don’t do something in the morning time, it doesn’t get done. I need the cool of the morning to work. So, what will it be … I guess the morning will tell.

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Activities

The weather has been much more comfortable, thank goodness. I am enjoying the cooler temperatures. Still 90sΒ°, but that beats a 100.

My activities, of getting things done, have been pretty slim of late.

I did look at the shut-off valve on the RV propane tank, and I am thinking that the easier fix, might be to add a shut-off after the original shut off. If I did not say the other day when posting about it, the propane does not leak outside the line, it just leaks pass the shut-off into the system. I would feel better if I had a way to shut it off completely. I did turn it off and on a few times and put a wrench on the packing valve to check for tightness. Also, my extended stay connection is a screw-in type and I might want to change that out to a quick disconnect, with its own shut-off. For now, if I need to move the RV, the extended-stay line must be screwed out, and then a plug screwed in its place.

Hey, good news! I had not checked it after turning the valve off and on a few times, so I thought maybe I should test it before posting this, and I did and guess what, turning it on and off a few times was the fix! My friend Barry suggested that I do this, so (Thanks Barry πŸ‘)! Sometimes it’s the simple things that get past me πŸ€”. Must have been a little something stuck in the valve. At any rate, I feel better now knowing that I can turn it completely off. Still, I may add the quick disconnect for the extended-stay with its own shut off.

I could take out that whole paragraph about fixing the shut-off valve, but then I’d have to write something else, and I don’t want to! Guess I am a lazy writer, LOL. You know, I sometimes have a hard time writing only a few short paragraphs, I don’t know how you writers do it when writing books and such. Writing is hard for me, and anybody that reads this blog, knows I’m not very good at it!

Have a nice day, Folks.

CopyQ

Software : Clipboard Manager software, I updated a piece of software called CopyQ from version 6.1 to version 6.2, and it broke my ability to double-click an entry and paste it to the active window that I have open. I use that little feature a lot, so I downgraded to 6.1. I won’t fuss too much, because this is open source and free software, so I can live with a mistake or two, now and then. It’s an excellent piece of software that I love. There are lots of other Clipboard managers, but this one is my pick of the bunch.

Here is a screenshot of one of the tabs I keep saved in CopyQ and If I want to paste any of these entries into my blog I just double-click it, and it pastes to the page, very handy. CopyQ is a clipboard manager, it stores as many cuts/copies as you like, and you can go back to them anytime you want and double click to add it to whatever window you have active, a blog, word processor, notepad or whatever.

Have a nice day, Folks.

Silly boo-boo

Pictures : Added a post to my Humming Feeder so when I bump into it, I won’t shake all the sugar water out. Also, this will help keep it stable in the hard winds. I worked a little on the fence that is behind my RV today too by adding wire ties to the Metal post that hold the fence, not sure what the technical name is for those. Anyway, this got the fence bottom up off the ground, so now, it won’t rust away.
Oh, found the old 4 Γ— 4 post for the humming feeder out in the desert, πŸ‘. Did a little sanding to the post and shorten it a bit.

Humming Feeder

Silly Boo-Boo: Yep, I sure made one of those this morning! When I flush out my black tank, I will first empty it out, then close the drain valve and run five minutes of freshwater and drain it again. When we have a lot of hot summer days, like now, I will flush it a second time with 5 minutes of fresh water. The way I add the 5 minutes of fresh water is by sticking the shower hose in the potty and adding the water. So … the boo, boo is the second flush of fresh water … can you see where this is going? Yep, I forgot to set my timer on the second flush and overflowed the water, oh what fun! I am sure glad I had emptied the tank and made the first freshwater flush already, a close one! But still, lots of water everywhere. So a wet vacuum cleaner, a lot of mopping and old towels for the carpet. I guess it is good that we are having hot summer days, that will help dry things out that I can not get to, such as cabinets with subfloors and things like that. The door and windows are open, and the fans are running and, things are drying quickly.

I hate it when I do stupid! I was working on the fence, the post for the feeder, doing laundry and flushing/emptying my black tank. Too much multitasking, maybe??? Oh yeah, just stupid!

Hummers : I am seeing a Rufus Hummer flying around the feeder, hopefully I’ll get a chance to grab a picture or two.

I think I need a rest now, have a nice day Folks.

Better Temperatures

Today was a nice cool day, compare to the days we’ve been having. And I did nothing, except, enjoy the day πŸ˜€πŸ‘! Didn’t even hit 90℉, such a pleasant break. Looking at the forecast for the next 10 days, I see nothing over 95℉, mostly low 90s, I like that! Not that I am all that crazy about 95Β°/low 90s, but it sure beats the 100+.

I discovered yet another problem today on the RV, go figure. The shut-off valve on my main propane tank does not shut off completely, got to investigate that and see what I can do about it. It is not a concern that needs immediate attention, but I’d feel better if it worked properly. Added it to the list!

Night Folks

Sunday Morning

πŸŽΆβ€ Sunday morning coming down” and I ain’t woke with a hurting head for over 30 years now! 🎢 I don’t miss it … you know, the hurting head thing or any of the things that got me there to start with, LOL.

This morning I cleaned a bit more behind the RV lot (over the fence) but I think I am about done with that for this year. So now when I want to do a little physical labor on the ground, I will have to look elsewhere. I can always find things to do around an RV lot that helps the place a bit. This could be β€œroof avoidance?” going on here πŸ€”. I will have to get back to it at some point, I think I have the hardest parts done anyway. Besides, it has got to get cooler at some point.

I looked at a weather map and I feel far worst for other folks in other places now, then for folks here. Man, it is a hot USA for sure, and I am hearing many other places are having way too much heat too. Hope the wave of heat breaks for everyone soon.

Hope everyones weekend went well.

Visiting

Today I went out to the LoW-Hi RV Park and visited with folks I know. Something for me to do on a Saturday morning. Was nice to get out for a bit, even if it wasn’t a lot of β€œout”, πŸ™‚. Also, good to visit with folks.

Not a lot to talk about today, I haven’t done anything and don’t plan on doing anything, so there!

On the RV, I’m just not sure what I want to tackle next. The roof is on top of the list, but I might wait for days that are going to be less than 90Β° as a high. That way, when I start in the mornings, it will be cooler and not get too hot as the morning passes. Yes, that’s it, I am thinking πŸ€” today, so there, it is not a complete waste! Well, okay, that might be debatable, depending on with whom you talk to 🀣.

Yesterday I talked with a friend by phone, that I have not seen for some years, and he is still out RVing and boon docking, makes me wonder why I am not out there. He is in the high forest over in AZ at about 7000 feet (2,133.6 m) elevation. Just thinking about it makes me feel cooler, πŸ€”. Oh well, maybe again one day.

Have a nice day, folks.

Over the Fence

Today I worked a couple of hours behind the RV lot clearing a few more things away. It gives me a bit of exercise and makes the place look a bit better too.

The roof awaits me, πŸ€”. I am hoping for just slightly cooler days now that I’m at a point where things are not critical on the roof, as in, it won’t leak if it rains! I kind of went at it crazily, until I felt like I had all the areas that could possibly leak redone, and now I am feeling a bit more relaxed about it all. Well … all that said above, or I’m just getting lazy, not sure which!

I went to pick up my mail at the mail service today and on the way back I stopped at Sonic (Fast Food Place) and pushed the red button to order. I cannot tell a lie, what I had in mind was a great big old strawberry milkshake πŸ§πŸ“. After you push the red button, a little line comes up at the bottom of the screen and tells you the red button is activated and to please wait for someone to answer, (basically what it says, not the exact words). But at any rate, after 10 minutes I give it up after no one answer, probably just as well because I certainly didn’t need a milkshake. I must admit, I still got that milkshake on my mind ….. I’m trying hard to be good.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Cool Electric

Pictures : Okay, I had to add a fan to the area above the refrigerator, and that seems to have done the job. I still have to mount the switch, run my wire a little better, and add a LED indicator. The temperature seems to be staying at about the same as inside the RV, which is much better. Before the fan, it was much hotter than room temperature. It is 100+ today and the sun was out till just a few minutes ago and the Electric breaker boxes were staying cool. I have ordered a LED indicator light from Amazon, and it should be here in a week or so. I’ll clean up my work and add the LED light, when it gets here. This area will be behind a cabin door, but I at least want it to be safe with the wiring.

Weather : Up until just a few minutes ago, the sun was out, and it was hot. Well, it’s still hot, but the sun is gone, the wind has picked up, and it is now browned out, as in dusty air. Oh, just checked and the temperature has dropped 5Β°, that’s a good thing πŸ‘. The weather app says there’s a 40% chance of rain, and I’m cheering for it!

I didn’t get anything done for today, the little above was yesterday’s work. Hopefully I find and do something productive tomorrow.

Night Folks.

Lot Cleaning

Pictures : Today I worked in the RV lot a little (not long, maybe a couple of hours). I rake the pine needles and cleaned the cane up a bit by taking the dead ones out. I am not sure what this cane is, but it is not a sugar cane. As you can see from the pictures, there will be plenty of pine needles for next time πŸ€”. I rake once a month or so and keep them from accumulating. Sometimes I can’t believe how many needles come off of these 3 Pine Trees. I guess the hot weather and just cooking them. I keep a timer on the water, and water them 2 hours each night. Not that you can tell, but the watering will at least keep them alive.

Cane of some kind.

Heat : The heat above the refrigerator still seems to be way too high to me. At this point, I’m beginning to think the heat is coming in the vent on the roof. Maybe there’s not a proper draft of air??? I don’t have this heat problem at night, only on the hot days. So … heat has to be getting in from somewhere, and cumulating above the refrigerator. Yesterday I was thinking just the roof above the refrigerator, but I’m not so sure now. The roof is not that warm in other places in the RV.

Have a nice day, Folks.
