Software : Clipboard Manager software, I updated a piece of software called CopyQ from version 6.1 to version 6.2, and it broke my ability to double-click an entry and paste it to the active window that I have open. I use that little feature a lot, so I downgraded to 6.1. I won’t fuss too much, because this is open source and free software, so I can live with a mistake or two, now and then. It’s an excellent piece of software that I love. There are lots of other Clipboard managers, but this one is my pick of the bunch.

Here is a screenshot of one of the tabs I keep saved in CopyQ and If I want to paste any of these entries into my blog I just double-click it, and it pastes to the page, very handy. CopyQ is a clipboard manager, it stores as many cuts/copies as you like, and you can go back to them anytime you want and double click to add it to whatever window you have active, a blog, word processor, notepad or whatever.

    1. I didn’t go into detail on using it but … you can also just drag and drop and that seems to work everywhere in both Windows and macOS in all versions.
Hien, If you have Windows the latest version (6.2) works fine with the double click, and you can get it here –
If you have a Mac, the (6.1) version works with the double click, and you can get it here –

Also, you can get the latest version in either Windows or Mac here –

Older version (6.1) here for either Windows or macOS

I find both and the to be trustworthy site.

I have used some software (such as Notepad++) where the double click in CopyQ don’t work on any version, but I have never found anywhere drag and drop don’t work.

If you do try it, there is a setting to turn on in Preferences for the double click to work under the history setting. If you have trouble, let me know, and I will help, if you like.

By the way, there are a ton of other Clipboard Managers, both paid and free, and being a writer you might like a different style. Many of them have similar features. However, from my simplistic point of view I would think this would be a good one for a writer, but I am not sure.

Let me know how it works out, if you give it a try.

        1. You can change that under the shortcuts setting in CopyQ and my is set to the standard paste command, Control V for paste. Usually I use the double click, drag and drop, or Control V, in that order of priority. I have not used the Windows V combo for anything in CopyQ.
I hope you like it, I think it is a great little utility for both Windows and Mac and use it constantly.
