Pictures : I like when I take Macro shots and see things I don’t see with just my eyes. Maybe I should see, but my eyes are old, π€. For example, when standing over the plate of the first shot, I see no yellow what-so-ever and I can’t tell that they are a bit fuzzy.
Note: See P.S. below. Firmware Update : I have run into my first problem with the R7. A firmware update, that is grayed out after about the third or fourth step. It gets to the point of where there is a screen that shows β¦
Firmware Update
Version 101 to 110
Cancel or OK
The above may not be exact, but it gets to a point something like above and, the OK is grayed out. I can’t find a way around it. Tech support, I guess. I can’t find anything online about it. If there is anyone with any insight, I will sure listen to them. Meanwhile, everything is working fine, best I can tell.
Have a nice day Folks
P.S. Hey, I found my solution to updating the firmware! Weirdly enough all the steps have been done with a touchscreen up to that point, but there I had to make the mechanical selection and not a touchscreen Selection, I just had to use the direction buttons on the camera itself, problem solved.
I found the solution on DPreview from, for a different camera, but it worked for this camera too.
Firmware Update solution
Don’t look like it had anything I needed, but I like keeping things updated anyway.
Beautiful captures, John! Happy Labor Day!

Thank you, Karla. I hope your holiday with Family and friends was good. Karla, I just read your last post, I heard a lot of emotions in that post, but there were things that stuck with me as I read. Your strength of character, your grace as a human being, your deep concern for others, your ability to move gracefully forward, and your ability to keep emotionally in touch with others, and these are just a few of the good things I heard you saying.
I think that you must be an amazing person. All my best to you, Karla βΊοΈ.

I have updated the R6 firmware at least 5 times so far but did not encounter the problem you experienced. Maybe I was only using my mouse and keyboard.

I did the update from the camera. All I did from the computer was to download the firmware and copy it to the SD card. It was just a simple operator error on my part, after loading it to the camera π€!
Do you connect your camera to the computer to update? I was reading that you could do that, but I have always just did it from the SD card.

Yes, I download the update to my PC, connect the camera to the PC, then use EOS Utility to update the firmware.

Nice to know that there is more than one way to update the camera. I have downloaded and installed most of the software from Canon’s website, but have yet to open any of it for anything.

Thanks, Deborah. The problem was just operator error, and me being unfamiliar with the camera. I have those operator errors every now and then, π!
