Wind and Sun: Today I did not get much accomplished, the sun was out but the wind was enough to make it uncomfortable out.
Thank you!: You folks sure give me a nice warm feeling of being welcome back to bogging, please give me a bit of time to catch up on things in all your blogs. I have tried to do a little catching up today but there is so many good post!
Pictures: Here is a Clark’s Grebe and a Coppers Hawk.
Health: Over the holidays (actually since spring) me and the Doctors had to fuss a bit over getting my blood pressure under control but we did get there. Of course, the reason it is high is that I have been very much losing my ongoing battle with weight. I am back to being bear size … but hey, I am a very lovable bear you know! All right, all right I say, all you folks that really know me, just shut up!!! LOL.
Pictures: Here are some shots from my second post, Sept 2007. Here is a link to that post.
1)Question Mark (2)Pearl Crescent (3)Common Buckeye (4)Black Swallowtail.
Exercise: I walked 2 miles this morning.
Holidays: Holidays, are they done for a while? Oh good!!! Sometimes there is way to much of a good thing 🙂
Blogging: I am starting back blogging today but it might be a bit before I get on track with photos and such. I will at least say Hello and Night Folks each day 🙂 Hey, that is the best I can do for now, LOL.
Texting: Over the last year I have just started to do a little texting … why you ask? Well, seems like over the last year I have run into people who want to do it. Most of the folks I know are older like myself and didn’t want to text, but that seems to be changing a little. What made me think of this is that I just got a text form an old friend that I know just hates anything Smartphone, so if he is willing to texts than it must be catching on with us old folk! Right Barry? LOL.
Firefox: I have always use private browser mode in Firefox but I have learned about an extension Mult-Account Containers that I like even better than private tabs. The extension seems to isolate tabs better when putting tabs in their own container. One of the best things about this is that I can log into both my google accounts and both my Flickr accounts all at the same time and they can’t see each other on Firefox. Helpful when you want to make different setting to like accounts 🙂
Internet: Over the last few months I have had lots of problems with Verizon internet service, I think maybe they have overloaded they network since they have push so hard with they new unlimited plan. Like most big businesses they like to get the customers but hate to do the services, (money for as little effect as possible).
Exercise: I have kept up with my exercise, doing five days a week and taking two off, but I have put on a good amount of weight over the last year and it is making it hard. I’ll keep pushing!
Friends: I have 3 folks in the area that I know from last year. Good to have folks around that you know.
Pictures: Just some wild flowers around the RV.
I am surprise sometimes when I see the rough area that these flowers will grow in.
But grow they do.
Makes a bee’s mouth water 🙂
Exercise: I walked for about 3 miles today.
The following is for folks that use WordPress.com as their blog.
Likes: WordPress is a pain sometimes! I use my Android WordPress App to read blogs(it has a build in reader) and it gives a bit different look than a browser. In some ways it is easier but it don’t show the full site, it just kind of shows text and images, like reader/image viewer. Which is fine most of the time.
However….. 🙂 sometimes I like to look at sites in my browser and I got to noticing that many sites when looking at a front page that shows many posts (like my blog does), each individual post in the front page did not show the “like button” at the bottom of each post. To see the like button you had to click each post individually like it than go back to the main page and do the same for the next post. Doing likes like this takes a lot more time when the blog is like my and shows all of each post without the need to click on it. So it is nice when the Like button is there on the main/front page with each post. You can like it and just stroll down to the next post. Saves a lot of time and page loading(Data).
So …. I wonder if my site is like that …. so I log off and click on my site and it too did not show the likes at the bottom of each post without clicking the post first.
I had to fix that! This is how I did it. Link to the support page WordPress Like Support Page In the support page find this (figure 1) and do it! (Note “it” being to put a check in the box by Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results ) Than each post on your front page will have the Like bottom 🙂 without having to click each individual post, as shown in Figure 2.
Wee, I hope this helps someone!
Pictures: Black-throated Gray Warble, and this is a lifer for me 🙂 When I was shooting it I was thinking Black-throated Sparrow but once I open the photo in the computer I knew something was off and it was the little yellow spot! Of course after reconsidering there was few other thing different too.
Thank You : To all the folks that have given me such great feedback on the new blog theme, I really appreciate it, I think I will nail it down 🙂
Exercise: I walk about two miles today …… Maybe a little less.
Pictures: I just can’t stop shooting my birds 🙂 Two more Redstart pictures.
“Oh my, this water is cold!”
Theme : Jmnowak report in the comments that when she clicks in the text area of a post it puts a line around it, as if it was a image.
“1) Whenever I hover the cursor over any part of text or images, I see a thin-lined box around it all, as if you had prepared this post as an image.
Sorry — I meant to say ‘click’ into the text area”
Is anyone else seeing this? I can’t see it from my computer or tablet. Your feed back would be greatly appreciated!
Exercise: I walked for two miles and rode the bike for a couple just goofing off.
Blog update: I am still playing with the themes and I like this one “Scratchpad” except the header is a bit larger than I like and each post don’t have the number of comments or a place to start one ( you have to click the post to leave one or read the others). However, I think I will let this one ride for a bit and see if it grows on me.
Update; back to “Hemingway Rewritten” theme. I like everything about this one except the header image size ….. again! Yes, I can crop the image but the space dedicated to the image remains 😦 Well, when you do free you can’t fuss too much about it all 😉
Update; Now to “Big Brother” theme. Much smaller header image 🙂 and still very open.
Pictures: Today’s pictures are of a Female Black-headed Grosbeak.
Weather: We are getting a hard rain today. We get a little about every day but some days it really comes down and today is one of the “coming down days”.
Exercise: I have been a little lazy for the last two days but today I did get out for a 2 mile walk.
Slack : I have been lazy on the Blog lately more so then I have ever been in the last few years. Still not doing well on my exercise or eating either 😦
Exercise: At least today I got out and did a 14 mile bike ride, first exercise in a week!
Computer: I have gotten a new Windows Computer ( a cheap one to hole me over till I find what I want, still thinking Apple later on this year). The new one is just one to use as a back up to my other older laptop which may go any day seeing as it is over 5 years old. Also this new one will let me take down the old desktop computer that I have and still have a backup machine. The desktop is built into a desk so it will be taking out the desk too. The desk takes up a lot of room so it will be good to have the room back. Ever now and then I like a big screen to play with but maybe if I get a nice high-end laptop later this year, I could get a nice 4 or 5K monitor to hook up to it 🙂 next year. Maybe just thinking on it for now.
The new Computer is a 14 inch Acer Aspire R 14, it is at least a HD 1080p but only a I5 processes with 8gig ram, 250 SSD and Windows Home. Nothing special but I am having fun playing with it, gives me something to do, seeing as I am off from all the things I usually do! Not that I am using it any but it is also my first “touch screen” for a Windows machine. I figure it will be a good enough Windows machine ( I do plan on keeping at least some kind of Windows computer) if I go with the main computer being an Apple.
I deactivated my Photoshop CS6 on the desktop and Activated it on the new laptop. I have not play with any photo on it yet so not sure how the color is going to be, but it looks OK. Maybe tomorrow.
Comments: Need to catch up on my comments, I have not look for a few days, sorry 😦
