Rainbow in a sunset

Pictures: The other day it was kind of storming about time for the sunset and this is a couple of shots I took.

Sunset.

Rainbow in the sunset, it was very nice and I wish I would have had a wider angle lens.

Tablet: Today I have flashed my tablet with a new OS. I put Cyanogenmod 12 on it. Now I can taste Lollipop 🙂 This is the first time I have flash a Rom, I have rooted a few devices but always left the stock Rom in, but not this time. I probably burned a couple of gigs of data but now I have something to play with.

Getting that solar love

Sunshine: We are definitely getting some of that solar love this morning. I love a sunny day even if it is cooler. The weather man is predicting a few of these sunny days in a row and I look forward to that, after all the cloudy ones we had.

Exercise: Just another 2 mile walk. I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 2.46mi, time: 46:07, pace: 18:47min/mi, speed: 3.19mi/h.

Tablet: I’m still liking my new Samsung Tablet, and I find that I use it a lot more than I was thinking I would. It is begaining to be the most use computer type device in the RV, the laptop is getting lonely. While in the boondocks battery life is a big deal and the tablet is doing pretty good, much better than the laptop with it’s 4 year old battery 😆

For this next job I do have to fire up the computer, photo editing. I can post pictures that I already have done but I can’t see trying to edit on a tablet, not yet anyways.

Sunshine

Sunshine:
Finally getting some sunshine after 3 or 4 days of overcast weather, but it is still cloudy with the sun only peaking out now and then. The temperatures are staying just fine, nice warm days and good sleeping weather for the nights. Just ain’t getting much solar love, that is okay in the big picture, things are great weather wise.

Tablet : I’ve been doing all my blogging with the Samsung tablet for the last two day, mostly to see if I can. It is taking some getting use to but I’m getting there. I find myself both typing and swiping on this keyboard, LOL. It is really too big to swipe with and I’m still getting use to the ideal of typing on screen, so I end up doing a mix of both.

Tablet still on my mind

Testing the Tablet:
Trying out the new tablet for a everyday driver. It sure has a lot more possibilities than the Nexus 7 does. You can type on this because it is big enough that the on screen keyboard is usable . The Samsung keyboard even has Control V,C and X for paste, copy and cut, which I think is a nice touch. One of the big thing to me is that I have not been able to my Xmarks plug in for Firefox mobile going. Use to work fine but updates have broke things somewhere along the line. Lucky for me it still works in Dolphin. Another great thing about this large tablet is that I can do multiple windows at a time, just like in Windows O.S. I think that is a Samsung thing, no matter who’s thing it is I like it ☺

Windows Computer: Sorry to say that you still can’t beat them for a all around internet tool. However things have gotten better with the other devices but if Windows ever catches up with just a few of the things that Android and iPad do …. I for one would only use Windows. I am cheering for them. I am so surprises to see Microsoft being a bit of a under dog in the tablet and phone world.

Old Nexus 7 (2012)

Nexus 7: I am updating the Nexus 7 again, from a factory reset. I have had a rebooting problem the since the last time so I am doing it all again 😦 I’m using McD’s WiFi so that will help on my data. The Lollipop update is going tough for me on the Nexus 7, I must say ….. in fairness, that I am rooting it as soon as I get updated so that may the cause of some of my headaches here. Maybe I’ll wait a day or two before I root it this time and maybe not ….. 😀

Verizon: I got a call from Verizon and they said it would be yet another month before My Verizon site will show my data used and send me warnings about the amount of data that I have used. Well, at least they called me back this time.

RIP MapMyWalk: The MapMyWalk app will no longer work on my old Thunderbolt Smartphone 😦 Okay it is time to give up the Thunderbolt. I only use it as a pocket tablet anyways so I guess things will work out. I don’t have a mobile phone because I am too cheap to pay the ridiculous monthly cost to have one, so for a phone I use Verizon Home connect and I kind of like the ideal of leaving the phone at home 🙂 But I do like to have a data connection with me … so some kind of device that I can carry in my pocket is the thing I,m looking for. A smart phone that is not connected to a carrier would do the trick like the Thunderbolt but a newer one that will work with modern apps. For now I just put the MapMyWalk app on my Nexus 7 and stuck it in my back pocket, but I would like a smaller device for that. So ….. I am on the lookout for something that will work. Maybe a iPod or Smartphone of some sort. At any rate I have needed to let the old Thunderbolt go for a while now so now is the time, RIP Thunderbolt!

Exercise: I took a good walk, just to walk off my frustration of not being able to get the MapMyWalk app on the Thunderbolt, and that I did, no more frustration 🙂 I walked with MapMyWalk! Distance: 5.30mi, time: 02:04:07, pace: 23:25min/mi, speed: 2.56mi/h. A nice walk.

Lollipop

Lollipop: Updated my Nexus 7 today, that took some time. Taken the update as an opportunity to revamp my apps a little bit and be rid of some that I never use. Redoing apps makes it a lot longer process but I’ll have a nice clean tablet …… for a while. At least till I clutter it up with a bunch of apps again. Many of my root apps are not working just yet, that will take some time. I did a big part of the update on my WiFi and some on McDonalds WiFI but I bet I ended up using more data than I wanted.

Okay, I’m off to play so later.

Black Friday deals?

Slower: Today is a bit more of a chilling day. Took a little trip into the city this morning but that is about it for today.

Exercise: I did take a short slow walk today. I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 2.24mi, time: 56:09, pace: 25:02min/mi, speed: 2.40mi/h.

Black Friday: I have been looking over Black Friday adds but I not seeing anything that I am wanting. Watching for Nexus 9 sale but no luck yet. Seeing a ton of low end computers and tablets but not much of the good stuff.

Nexus updates

Exercise not: I am not doing any exercise today, the knees ask for a rest and the knees get what they want 🙂 so a couple of days off.

Nexus: I will have to update my Rooted Nexus 7(2012) in a bit. The new update(Lollipop) is out. I will wait till after the 25th so I know that I have plenty of bandwidth to play with. I will have to read up on it too, these updates are just far enough apart for me to have time to forget just how I did the last one 😦  I would like to get a newer Nexus device but I don’t much like what is out just now. At least not at the price,  the(Nexus 9)  is out at, just too costly for my taste.

Busy Sunday

Bird: This is a Pyrrhuloxia and these will be the only pictures I’ll be posting because they are the only ones I have. I took these pictures in Deming NM.

Busy Today: I will have lots to do today so I don’t know how much blogging I’ll be doing.

Update 3pm; Ha, I am now pretty much caught up, Good deal.

Lunch: A vegetable stir fry, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale greens, green onions, dell pepper and 4 tablespoons of pinto beans on Carb Balance whole wheat tortillas, all this Season with butter buds, garlic salt and dash(table blend). For dessert I’ll have a small amount of walnuts and maybe just a little fruit of some kind.

Nexus 7: Updated again! This time from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4. Took me about 90 minutes this time.
