Resolutions?

Well here we are in 2017! Resolution time …… yes? My resolution is to get back to eating better and lose some weight …… again :/ This is a on going fight for me and I guess it always will be. Wouldn’t it be great if you could lose the weight and than just forget about it and stay the same weight? So many of us fat folk have tried that so many times to no avail ……. no matter how many times we try!!! 😦

One of the things I am going to try to do is to drink more water even though I drink a gallon a day now. I unfortunately drink a lot of other garbage too, like diet soda pop and tea sweetened with artificial sweetener. So my approach to this is going to be if I drink a soda pop or glass of tea I will drink two glasses of water. I always start the day with two glasses of water, so after having my two waters I will have a tea but then it will be back to two waters with my new plan of attack. I started that this morning ….. maybe a side benefit to this method will be a full feeling which would be great, feeling full means I don’t want to eat.

Still not founding anything to get me excited about shooting the camera for now, hopefully this will pass soon. There is always things to shoot, one must just find the fun of it.

Oh, we must all remember to move our clock forward one leap second! LOL. For me good time keeping is a couple of minutes one way or the other for an hour! From Wikipedia ” Since this system of correction was implemented in 1972, 27 leap seconds have been inserted”. You know in my life now-a-days daylight and dark is about all I need πŸ™‚

Looking ahead

Pictures: Some old shots for today. I have not taken many pictures over the last 3 weeks, so it is time for some old shots. A fellow blogger, Hien posted some great shots of the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak and made me realizes that I miss the eastern birds πŸ™‚ After I made a commend on his blog, he mention that I had the Black-Headed GrosBeak in this area which reminded me of both the picture I posted today.

Swamp thing/Weather: Today I sold the Swamp thing and I am now using the AC which does a good job and I don’t have to add water ever couple hours, of course it cost more to run. Getting ready for a new and hopefully a cooler place πŸ™‚ The whole south-west is hotter than normal now and it will be warmer than it should be about anywhere I go but I think it will get back to more normal temperatures as the summer goes alone. I sure hope so.

Diet/Exercise: I have been off my Atkins diet for some time now but I need to get back at it and maybe getting a little isolated will help, so I am keeping that in mind on this move. My exercise routine has not been up to power either, mostly due to my knees hurting so maybe a good diet with a little weight lost can help that too.

Exify plugin: Do you use plugins in your Browser? I use a good bunch of them and one of my favorites is Exify for the Firefox browser. If you have it install and hover over an image it will give you basic Exif info, but only if it is there of course. Sometimes I need a second plugin to see some Exif data in an image and I use Exif Viewer for that, by right clicking on the image and picking View Link Exif Data it gives you more detail, lots more. Neither work all the time but one or the other work most of the time.

Exercise: Today I have ridden the bike for 6 miles and added some new exercise. I worked out with some dumb-bells that I got from Walmart today, not much, but a start anyways. Working out is a lot like losing weight, you get there ….. but then the hard part is to stay with the program! I added my stretching this afternoon, so a good day for me. I have done no walking in the park to speak of, today because everybody is here and no-one is leaving or coming, so I have little to do. Maybe I do a couple more miles on the bike, later today.

Diet: Dieting is the fight that is toughest for me. Maybe I can mount the refrigerator backwards, with the door of it facing outside and that way I would have to go outside to get in it …… o_O As it is now, the refrigerator is within arms length from where I sat on the computer, too easy to reach. Another good solution would be to add a combination lock that must be locked each time the door is shut, LOL.

About birds, diet and exercise

No they are not connected: Well the exercise and diet is but not the birds.

Walk?: Maybe, I have not decided yet. 10am; The knees don’t feel too bad this morning but we might give them some slack today, I’ll be on my feet enough with all the RVers coming in today. The knees don’t differentiate between walking and and just standing or moving around as I do my work. Bottom line, on days that I am going to be on my feet a lot is best to not walk, so says my knees.

Diet: I am making adjustments to my diet and like all other folks this is a tough thing for me, but at any rate it is coming along pretty well. Many more vegetables, a little less meats and taking out the soda(again), been without soda for a week tomorrow. This time I am drinking other drinks to replace the soda, like tea, water additive, maybe a half glass of some kind of juice however not more than two glasses of anything but water and I try to drink a gallon (or more) of water per day.

Friends: A couple of my friends showed yesterday evening and it is so good to have old friends around πŸ™‚ My friends, Mickey and Sandra, link to Mickey blog on the right side of my blog.

Diet/Weight: I am in the process of changing my diet up a littleΒ  and hoping to keep my weight the same (or lower πŸ˜‰ )Β  I have been on the Atkins diet for about two years now but it is time to see if I can get my diet more normal. I am doing this by slowly adding a lot more vegetable and fruits while removing some of the meats.Β  So far I am holding my weight down and not adding anything  photo crossfingers.gif !

I am still fighting my soda pop habit (maybe tomorrow will be the first day back off the soda). I am drinking water like a mad man, about 2 gallons a day.

Stats: My stats are back to normal now (20 Hits or so a day ) and I think I feel better without all them people looking at me, I thought maybe my zipper was down or something, LOL!

Diet: I am switching up my diet a little. When I seen the doc the other day I was dehydrated, so I am adding a few carbohydrates back to my diet and taking out some fats. So …. Lots of vegetables, fish, chicken, turkey, tuna and other low fat meats. I will be cutting back on red meats as a whole but I will still eat red meats but it will be very little compare to now.

Friends: I have a couple of friends coming today,Β  and it will be good to see them.

Confession

Soda: I have loss my battle and I’m drinking soda againΒ  😦  It sure taste good. Should I renew the fight? It did not help with weight as best I can tell. However, I may renew the fight, it is not good for you. I have been back drinking soda for about a weekΒ  now.

No Walking again today: I have not done so much around the camp ground today either, a days rest is okay now and again πŸ™‚

No hurry

Nice day coming down: The morning is starting out kind of cool but I think it will be a fine day. The weather man says it will get to just over 70Β° today. I have looked at the weather averages for the area and it is likely that I will enjoy some nights at or near freezing with cooler temperatures in the days, but that is better than 100Β° days in AZ. So there may be a few pants and sweater days. This morning it is just over 50Β° in the RV and I’m setting in my recliner with a blanket over me, staying toasty. No hurry to do anything today.

We are in for a cool down to more normal weather, which is cooler than it is now and more like what I expected to see here.

Artificial Sweeteners : Today is one week with no drinks of any kind with artificial sweeteners πŸ™‚ So the caffeine habit is kicked, now it is just a matter of letting the ideal of no sweet tasting drinks set in. I have quit soda pop and tea a few times over the pass 7 years of my RVing but never both at once and completely. This time I have. I think for me to see any progress in my weight lost with this move, it will take some time as my mental cravings and habit for the sweet taste fades. Right now, I think I may be replacing those cravings with eating, but I do believe that will pass. Also I am drinking water by the gallons, literally. I easily drink 2 gallons a day. I want to drink at least a half gallon a day, but 2 gallons is a bit of a over kill, again I think this is just part of the replacement of the sweet taste and I do believe that it will pass.

Exercise: I have not got to do my exercise for two days now with all the traveling, but today I will. Not sure whether it will be a bike ride or a walk but one is in the makings.

Walk: Yes, a walk it was. This is off a bit because I started out and got about 100 feet from the RV when I decided to change into my shorts and T-shirt, so I paused the Mapmywalk app and then forgot to un-pause till well into the walk, in which case it just makes a straight line from the start point to the point where it is un-paused. Maybe add a half mile? Close enough. I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 4.70mi, time: 01:17:20, pace: 16:28min/mi, speed: 3.64mi/h.

Getting too warm

Shopping: Today I will do some shopping and stock up a bit. I don’t need to stock up but old habits die hard. It’ll be good to get out and about.

Weather: The weather is not looking good for next week. The weatherman is giving temperatures near 100Β° and that is not going to work for me, too hot. By this time next week I will be somewhere on the road in the eastern direction toward NM.

Diet: Another one of my little battles is going on, starting today. All this week I have drink only one soda pop a day and today I plan on not drinking any, or any other type of artificially sweeten drink. I will miss all that sweet flavoring 😦

Exercise: Exercise is off for today, I will rest the knees.
