Looking ahead

Pictures: Some old shots for today. I have not taken many pictures over the last 3 weeks, so it is time for some old shots. A fellow blogger, Hien posted some great shots of the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak and made me realizes that I miss the eastern birds 🙂 After I made a commend on his blog, he mention that I had the Black-Headed GrosBeak in this area which reminded me of both the picture I posted today.

Swamp thing/Weather: Today I sold the Swamp thing and I am now using the AC which does a good job and I don’t have to add water ever couple hours, of course it cost more to run. Getting ready for a new and hopefully a cooler place 🙂 The whole south-west is hotter than normal now and it will be warmer than it should be about anywhere I go but I think it will get back to more normal temperatures as the summer goes alone. I sure hope so.

Diet/Exercise: I have been off my Atkins diet for some time now but I need to get back at it and maybe getting a little isolated will help, so I am keeping that in mind on this move. My exercise routine has not been up to power either, mostly due to my knees hurting so maybe a good diet with a little weight lost can help that too.

Exify plugin: Do you use plugins in your Browser? I use a good bunch of them and one of my favorites is Exify for the Firefox browser. If you have it install and hover over an image it will give you basic Exif info, but only if it is there of course. Sometimes I need a second plugin to see some Exif data in an image and I use Exif Viewer for that, by right clicking on the image and picking View Link Exif Data it gives you more detail, lots more. Neither work all the time but one or the other work most of the time.

I had a good walk today, as you see from above it was just over 4 miles. One thing I like about the “apps world” is the ease that you can share info between apps, very handy.

I did get my laundry done today and picked up the needed oil to change the oil in my truck at some point. The rest of the day was pretty much spent goofing off. We went to lunch at the Golden Corral and I had more than my share of food. I did eat the right foods but a lot of it. That however is the part of the Atkins diet I like best, as long as you stay away from the high carb foods, you are fine. I did good and stayed away from my favorite, carrot cake.

Today I checked the status of my internet orders from Amazon and B&H Electronics and both should be here by Thursday. My friend still has a thing or two to get done and then we are out of here. We are both kind of thinking north a little ways, and by a little ways I mean under a hundred miles or so. At any rate the B&H order got delayed by another day for some reason (FedEx delay, not B&H) and the other one had been slow from the get go. I ordered from three different companies through Amazon and all of them did great, including Amazon, but the other one (Paradise Memory Co ) has been ridiculously slow. (Paradise Memory Co ) received my order on the 21st of October and didn’t place a shipping notice to the post office until the 26th of October and then didn’t release the item for shipping until the 4th of November. If a company is going to move that slow, I think they should let you know that up front. Oh well, now I know. Over all, things went great, out of about 10 items I ordered from Amazon, eBay and B&H all where fast and efficiently delivered, except the one.

Social; I would like to take a moment to say Thank You to all the folks that follow and stop in to read my blog, so to each and every one of you a big thanks!  To tell the truth I am a bit surprised by the number of folks that do stop in, because, a writer ……. I am not. I do like to have a little something to say everyday but often it sure is a bit of nothing, LOL! Another thing that has surprised me, is just how much I look forward to taking a few minutes of my day just to say hello to folks and write a few words about my small world. I know that there are a few folks that have follow me along the road for some time now and don’t ever say much, so a big thank you to you guys and gals too.

The posts that get the most responds are the ones with good pictures ………………… OK, I hear you guys, I will try a little harder to get photos worth posting. Still working on that Macro stuff 😦

I try hard to get over to each and every one of your guys and gals blogs to have a look see and see what you are up to, and I often do a “like” but I don’t comment much ………. most of you are such great writers I am sometimes a bit intimidated 😯 !  Again thanks so much for stopping in on me, I greatly enjoy having you by!

The day is warming

The day is warming up to be a nice one and it feels food. I will get the bike out for a ride here in a little while, I may take a long one. We’ll see.

As those of you that follow my blog know I am doing the Atkins diet and this morning I was talking with a neighbor and I think he might give Atkins a try. He is not as over weight as I was when I started.  By the way my weight is holding on at about 190 lbs for now but hopefully I will see some movement before long. I seem to hit these spots on the lower end of this weight loss that just hang for a month or so and then slowly move a little more down. The last lbs are the tough ones.

Internet connection; is doing while now. The first day or two it was a little fussy (dropping out a bit) but it seem that it is settled down now.

My back is being a bit fussy this morning, so later today I am going to look into some good exercise for the back. Maybe a yoga thing. The cooler weather is causing my aches and pains to come alive. Warm dry weather is like oil to the bones for me, LOL.

OK, I think I will go take that bike ride now.  Back at 1:20; Man oh man, I did take a nice ride. I rode to Stanfield and the round trip was 20 miles, a fine ride indeed, will have to wait and see how that set into all the old bones. I sometimes over do things but it did feel good. I did do a little stretching but not a lot.

Just got a call from my friend who will be here today and he will stay for a day or two, it will be nice to have someone around I know well. He just pick up his new Arctic Fox TT, looking forward to seeing it. I like the Arctic Fox RV’s, they are good 4 season rigs.

I have thrown a few bird seeds on the ground and the birds are starting to find them. Next time I am in town I will pick up a feeder, I had forgotten that I broke my feeder last time I was out boon-docking.

Riding today

My friend went for a long ride today and I rode along. We went to Silver City, and a ways through the mountains, a good ride.

This morning I took a short walk of about two miles and that has been about it so far. Maybe later today I will walk some more. I did do a little stretching.

Weight;  As my readers may know I am on the Atkins Diet (Low Cab diet).  I have hit a milestone in my weight loss! Yes I have made the less than 200 lb mark and holding, for 4 days in a roll. Now if I can just hold on and continue down. But for now ………………..
PhotobucketIt has taken me near 3 months to drop the last 10 lbs. I had slacked up a little on the diet but still on it but just too far ahead of where I should have been in the stages of it. There are 4 stages to the diet and they are the Induction stage, OWL( On Going Weight loss), Pre-Maintenance and Maintenance.

Here is kind of the  ideal of the stages, one; the Induction stage get things going by adjust your body and losing water weight and starts you burning fat instill of carbs, this stag drops weight fast. Two; is the n Going Weight loss and helps you pick a spot where you eat just a little more cards but still lose a fair amount of weight as you go alone. Three; is Pre-Maintenance, this stage and is where you are still losing weight but slower and are near your goal. in this stag you eat more carbs to a point where as you are still losing but very slowly till reaching your goal. Four; Maintenance, this is where you are at the weight you want to be and holding! My problem was I got to testing things a little too hard, so I had to just cut back on some foods (ones that have more carbs). So for now I am still kind of in the induction stage but not fully, doing just a little OWL.

Goal; I have not put my goal in writing yet  …………. but today is the day I do that. I want to be 180 lbs or less. Today I weight in at 197 lbs. About 20 lbs to go. I started my dieting at 280 lbs in summer of 2011 by cutting out breads and potatoes and started the Adkins part in April of 2012. I keep on trying 🙂  .

Month is near gone

I don’t believe the month is already gone, time is flying by again! Exercise this morning was my usual bike ride of about 10 miles. I have not done my stretching as of yet, but I will get to it before the day is over. I have been doing well with my exercise and stretching but eating is always a fight (I am staying on my Atkins Diet) . I stay with the diet but man oh man, I still eat a lot. I guess that is why I have to diet and exercise, LOL. I am at least holding my own on the weight front (not gaining).

I was hoping that the update for the smart phone would come on a day that I had nothing to do but it is still has not came down yet. I did update my web browsers (Firefox) this morning and I have read somewhere that it will work with Windows 8, so that is a good thing. Well, while I am at it, I think I will update the laptop.

Lazy day visiting my friend

Today all I did was visited with a friend and we chatted away the whole day in what seem like no time. My friend is also working on weight (isn’t everyone?) and we talk a lot about the Atkins diet. I have always said that I would not do one of the “diet’s” but I must say my friend has me thinking on it enough that I am going to at least buy the book and read it over. After reading it over I’ll let you know if I take the leap! It sure has some good sounding parts, one of which it says that you are not left hungry. I may download the digital version to my Tablet tonight.

That has pretty much been my whole day and it is already late (after 6 pm) so I am going to watch 60 minutes, later.
