Too busy

Busy today:
I have not had time to do much of anything today! Volunteering gets busy sometimes 🙂

So no pictures today. I did get out to see some neat lava tubes today, while walking with the boss but no pictures 😦

Another Busy Day

Busy busy: I like it! I don’t work all that hard but I keep busy doing this and that and I have a big range of things I can pick from, I am liking my gig here. Today I mended a fence and did some of the normal chores around the place. All the folks I work for are very supportive and helpful in any way they can be and I try to be the same in return 🙂

Pictures : For today it will have to be something I already have online somewhere, let me look ……. Ok here we go.

One day on a walk to the top of Spring Canyon Mountain the light was hitting this cactus in a way that made it look on fire almost. I call it the Burning Cactus on the Mountain ❗

Exercise and stretching: I am missing them a good bit lately 😦 Hopefully the work I am doing will make up for it a bit.

Fast days

Busy today: The days zip past quickly here because I stay so busy doing things. There is lots to do and I like doing (or don’t mind doing) most the of the things that need to be done so it is working out.

Birds: Today I am going to do Dark-eyed Juncos (Red Back). All these photos were taken in Cloudcroft, NM.

Busy

Busy: Sunday are busy days for me here because it is the day most leave out after the weekend of camping, and everything has to be cleaned up. Also this Sunday has a lot of day use folks coming out. The rest of the week is slower. It is about 3:30 and I just now have time to sat down to my blog.

Weather: Most of the day the wind has been kind of mild but it is just starting to pick up a little but not as bad as it was yesterday or the day before.

Bird of the week: Going with another common bird from back east, a Cardinal. I have lots of Cardinal pictures, so if I have the time I will do a new one each day this week.

Odds and ends

Busy day: This morning I was off to the laundry, the VA clinic for an appointment and a little shopping. Back here I had a few sites to clean up, and the weekends always pick up a little, so I’ve been keeping at it pretty good. No hard stuff, just a little busy.

Exercise: I did walk today with a couple of my lady friends, about 1 3/4 miles maybe.

Busy

Staying busy: As we go through the holiday weekend the camp ground is staying busy with folks coming and going steadily. Today there will be a mass exit as people will have to get back to work tomorrow, after having a fun time this weekend. At any rate, it’ll keep me going for today.

Update 4pm; I have gotten pretty much caught up for today but I had to keep busy to do it. Shouldn’t be this busy again till the 4th of July.

Tablet: My tablet is getting a lot more use this weekend. I’m in and out so much that I don’t have a lot of time to set down with the computers. The tablet is just too handy to pick up and add a few lines to the blog, looking something up on Google or checking the weather. Just a few years ago you could have never convinced me that I would be using a tablet so much, they are just so handy. My friend that just left, had a Windows Tablet and it make me think about getting one but Windows Tablets just don’t act ready for prime time to me. Many of them don’t even have GPS built-in, and looking around the net I don’t see a go to map/navigation app for Windows Tablets, speech recognition seems to be pathetic to me, Android and Apple seems to be far ahead with speech when comparing. What is with Windows and all the Training you need to do with speech to get it to understand you! And even with the training Windows, my Android does a much better job at recognizing my southern drawl then Windows does. With Android or Apple you just pick them up and start talking! I think maybe some of the higher cost Windows Tablets are much nicer but for a lot less money I can get an Android Tablet that does all a Tablet needs to do, and does it well. Do you have to train Windows phones for speech? A good Google question, I’ll look it up.

Walk: I have not walked today for exercise but I walk plenty around the camping area, for sure enough to call it exercise.

Birds: I have a few Black-chinned Hummers coming to my feeders and I happy to report that the Bullock’s Oriole have follow me over to my new location, I have at least one male and one female coming to the feeder.

Busy day

I have been busy all day and I don’t seem to have gotten a lot done but I have been busy. Ever have those days?

What I did do is ….. my laundry and some shopping. Sadly that is all I have gotten done. I did shop at 4 different stores if that counts, Walmart (3 or 4 times), Lows, Dollar Tree, and a shoe store. Bang, the day is gone!

Well I am not sure about where I will go tomorrow, I kind of want to kill a little time and I am not sure where I will do that …….. I guess I will just start driving and see where I end up. I had my mind-set to go to the Petrified Forest but that is not set in stone. My maps tell me that it is about 113 miles down the road, so we’ll see.

I still need to pick up a refill on my propane tank somewhere alone the line.

Tonight I am hold up at the Walmart in Gallup, NM.  I hope this works, I have never tried to set a location link with my tablet, if it is broken someone let me know.

I seem to have gotten plenty of walking done just going back and forth to all the stores, we’ll call it exercise at any rate! It made me tired and my knee hurt, so that counts 🙂

Night folks.

Busy and more busy

I have been running around like a chicken with its head just cut off! I went down to Deming and checked on getting my truck in for an Oil change and some other little work, which will be done tomorrow. Stop by my mail service (didn’t have any mail to speak of) and stop to see a friend for a little while. After getting back here I call tech support about my Nexus 7 that has stopped working, so I am sending it back to Asus tomorrow. I than called tech support for my Verizon Air-Card and I am now waiting to here back from them (it keeps disconnecting me) Both of the tech support things took a lot of time.

Exercise; yesterday and the day before I got a lot of walking done and today I have taken a small walk but I have not gotten any of my stretching done for 3 or 4 days now 😦   ❗  Tomorrow will likely be another busy day that don’t allow for much exercise. I may get around to another small walk today.

Weather; well it is all about the wind here in Deming. Winds up to 60mph today 😦  . I have a good view of Deming from the hill that this state park is on, but today that view is just brown, can’t see any of Deming. I am glad I went out this morning to do my chores, because it would not be good driving. We get a good bit of dust here in the state park but we are up against a mountain and it helps a lot. The flat area of Deming gets the wind much worst than we get up here. I know I talked about the wind a little while over in Wellton, AZ but let me tell you this wind is a much different critter, harder with much more dust and far more consistent. No biggie, I knew that Deming was like this, during this time of the year.

By the way, for those of you who don’t know why I am in Deming already, it is because one of my stops did not work out, well maybe two or three of my stops. The first one was to be the Pinal County West park, just outside Casa Grande, there is a link in yesterday’s post. I left there because everyone was run out of the place about 3 weeks ago (I didn’t know this before I got there) and I didn’t want to be there by myself or get run off. They can’t seem to make up their mind as to whether they are going to allow RVers in there or not, it is a shame if not, it has been a poplar RV spot for years now. The second stop was to be in Tucson or just west of Tucson at a Boon-docking area that I wanted to try (close to a friend I could visit) but I missed the turn and I don’t much like driving in the big city anyways so I just kept coming east. Now the third stop was to be Chiricahua National Monument, I drove there but the RV area was full and the boon-docking area was way to far up a wash-boarded road to suit me, so east I came. And that, my friends is why I am in Deming, a little earlier than expected.

Should be more fun to follow along with me this year because I think I will be going to more places. I can only stay in each state park for 2 weeks at a time. I will have to stay in the Deming/Las Cruces area for at least 6 weeks, because I have an VA appointment about mid May, so I will stay in 2 or three different parks while killing time. I will get some pictures of each and post as I have time. May be folks out there that don’t know but you can buy an annual pass, and stay in state parks here in NM for $4.00 a night with electric and water or stay free in their boon-docking area for two weeks at a time. After two weeks you can go to another one. It is a good deal. The cost for the annual pass is different depending on whether you are a resident or not and your age, but either way it is a good deal.

OK enough chat for today, later.
