Holidays: Holidays, are they done for a while? Oh good!!! Sometimes there is way to much of a good thing 🙂
Blogging: I am starting back blogging today but it might be a bit before I get on track with photos and such. I will at least say Hello and Night Folks each day 🙂 Hey, that is the best I can do for now, LOL.
Texting: Over the last year I have just started to do a little texting … why you ask? Well, seems like over the last year I have run into people who want to do it. Most of the folks I know are older like myself and didn’t want to text, but that seems to be changing a little. What made me think of this is that I just got a text form an old friend that I know just hates anything Smartphone, so if he is willing to texts than it must be catching on with us old folk! Right Barry? LOL.
Firefox: I have always use private browser mode in Firefox but I have learned about an extension Mult-Account Containers that I like even better than private tabs. The extension seems to isolate tabs better when putting tabs in their own container. One of the best things about this is that I can log into both my google accounts and both my Flickr accounts all at the same time and they can’t see each other on Firefox. Helpful when you want to make different setting to like accounts 🙂
Internet: Over the last few months I have had lots of problems with Verizon internet service, I think maybe they have overloaded they network since they have push so hard with they new unlimited plan. Like most big businesses they like to get the customers but hate to do the services, (money for as little effect as possible).
Exercise: I have kept up with my exercise, doing five days a week and taking two off, but I have put on a good amount of weight over the last year and it is making it hard. I’ll keep pushing!
Friends: I have 3 folks in the area that I know from last year. Good to have folks around that you know.
Pictures: A mountain and couple wild flowers.
I took this shot somewhere alone the road between Page, AZ and Bryce Canyon. Note the electric pole and the small building on the lower left for size perspective.
Internet: I have been without the internet for a few days. I had my Verizon account on suspension and the RV Park’s WiFi was not working well enough to use. So hopefully I will get back in the swing of things here soon. I will likely be moving soon too, not sure just when but soon. Verizon account is live again.
Truck: My truck is running good (new clutch and all) now but I still need a tailgate but I’ll look for that as I travel alone the way.
Weather: Hotter than hell! I’m not even in the hottest place I could be either, think about Phoenix, AZ! Sure glad not to be there 🙂 No matter I can’t wait to get out of this heat. At 6pm it is 104° outside, the Swamp thing has it at 92 here in the RV ….. a bit hotter than I like.
Pictures: Couple shots around the camp ground.
The day: My day has been busy and the camp ground is full for tonight at 6pm. The day was sure gone fast!! I was painting this morning.
Internet : The internet (Verizon) is acting up a bit for some reason. My connection down in the hole( my RV site/host site) is only 3g speed today 😦 I have been talking with others in the camp ground and theirs is less signal too, but all the others are higher up than I so most of them have 4G speeds.
Weather: Rain and lots of it, pretty much rained all night last night and it is very overcast today. Earlier today the weather was making my internet connection do poorly however now it is working fine and we got a little sun peaking through to the boot 🙂
Pictures: Today’s picture is the Lesser Gold Finch and I forget where I took these. They are dated last year so I am going to guess at Storrie Lake State Park ….. the last one at least. The first one … I can’t remember the last time I had a feeder up.
Walk: Started the day with a good walk right after breakfast.I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 3.29mi, time: 01:02:45, pace: 19:06min/mi, speed: 3.14mi/h. Link to MapMyWalk
Ubuntu: Today I am using the older computer I got from my friend yesterday with Ubuntu installed on it that I installed yesterday afternoon. I like seeing just how much I can do with it as a Windows replacement machine and it makes a nice little back up computer if I keep everything up to date. Between yesterday and today I have configuring Firefox(it comes with Firefox installed), Thunderbird email, Everpad (compatible with Evernote) , Diodon (a clipboard manager), Gimp Image Editor, and one or two others. Today I am trying to get things synced up, such contacts, email, bookmarks, Firefox plug-ins and other things. I get hung up a good bit, I don’t know a much about Linux, yet.
Ubuntu Text to speech: That is the one thing I have not be able to get to work very well on Ubuntu. It makes no matter I am sating here next to my Nexus 7 tablet and I can just pick it up and use it when I need TTS, while doing my blog because WordPress is always synced. TTS could come in handy for other things though if I had it going good. i do have it working but it sure is not near as good as the ones on Windows or Android.
Internet: The internet is acting up a bit today. This is the second time I have had that problem here, always before my connection has been good with Verizon.
Weather: The weather is fine today but the man says it is to get colder once again. Hope it is not to bad on my moving day.
Sating: I have been sating way to long I have got to get up and move a bit.
Cool and getting cooler: Looks like I’m in for a chill coming my way, says the weatherman. The report even has a day dipping below freezing, brr.
Took a little trip into Grants today, just for something to do mostly. Picked up a couple things from Walmart.
Walk:Took a walk about 2.5 miles, the time is off because I stopped and chatted with neighbors along the way. I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 2.42mi, time: 01:14:18, pace: 30:45min/mi, speed: 1.95mi/h.
Version: Wow, I have been in this area at least 4 other times and never had any trouble with phone or internet, but today they are both dead. I talked with the Host who has been here for 5 months and he said in all that time, this was the first time his phone did not work. I guess something broke at one of the towers somewhere. I hope it don’t stay down all weekend.
6pm Update: Verizon just coming back on line. Glad it’s back 😀 and I hope it stays up.
I took a little faster walk this morning and a little longer. Now I’ll see how the knee is going to react. I will be taking tomorrow off no matter, and if the knee don’t react well to this morning’s walk, I’ll take some more time off. The weather has been fine for walking, just tops.
I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 6.02mi, time: 01:45:06, pace: 17:27min/mi, speed: 3.44mi/h.
My friend Max took off to visit some more folks he knows, so it is just me again. We’ll probably catch up again it some point before leaving Quartzsite.
Wow, looks like my internet is down, I am surprised. The connection has been very good here. No! The internet was not down, my tablet got stuck, that don’t happen much. When I restarted my web browser(Dolphin) was updating so maybe that was the problem. I am going to guess that was it, because I was trying to use Dolphin when I decided the net was down.
My internet is at 1X today, as slow as it gets, 😦 I guess I will just have to suffer through, LOL. Man, you would think that there was no life before the internet if we didn’t know better, you think? We do get spoiled to things. Spoiled or not, it makes me nuts not having an internet connection.
For exercise this morning I took a short walk and I may do another in a while. Update 2:30 pm; added another short walk.
The plan is to leave out of here Monday morning, and I will let you know where we land 🙂 . Hint, it is near the highest point in NM. I have enjoyed Heron lake and the walking was tops, I also look forward to a new place to explorer.
Everyone have a nice evening, later.
Internet …………. It sucks here! Not caring for the non-connection here at all. I am going to try to update my location, maybe I can at least get that much. I best hurry along with this post because yesterday about this time I was not able to do much of anything on the net.
It is trying to rain here but only a little sprinkling so far. Like all of NM it is very dry here and the fire dangers are very high. A good rain would be most welcome, for sure. The temperatures are better here too, seeing as we are at about 7000 feet.
I think that I may be getting some bird pictures here. I will say no more than that for now, and we’ll see.
Short post today …………….. again. I put out some seeds for the birds and the next time I looked up the seeds where gone, so I think I will watch a little bit.
I got to my new location and the RV is set up for a stay. I will plug in the location links tomorrow when I have more time. I took my time coming over and got here in time to take a nice little 2 mile walk and do just a little stretching.
I put the TV and got 57 channels! Wow, I do love this area for over the air TV. On the other hand I only have 3g internet speed here and I miss my 4g already. There is always trade off in live, yes?
I will catch up on my emails and blog reading tomorrow. Tonight I got to see who our president is going to be, LOL, I want have to look hard for a channel about that!
More tomorrow and I will get back to all my comments and likes tomorrow.
