It’s a Sunday

Yes a lazy Sunday is upon us, one last day off for me. I think I will do a little shopping today and later on maybe a bike ride.

This morning I was playing around in Windows and realized that I had installed Skype the app instead of the desktop version of Skype. I changed this right away. Man, the apps are just desktop hogs, when it comes to using space on the screen. If you want to talk to someone on Skype and use another program while chatting it would not work out to well with the app Skype. You know, thinking on this ………… if Microsoft really wanted to make in roads in the mobile area, one the things that I would like to see changed is the ability to see as many apps on a tablet or phone as I like with screens that could be sized as I like. In other words make the app world like the desktop world and not the other way around. I think this would be a good selling point for me. Yes, I like the ideal of re-sizable apps! There are a few apps that do this now and I have one called, Stick It, and it is a video app that I use to play podcast, needless to say it is one of my favorites.

I could not get an encryption software to work on all my devices, it is possible but it is not happening for me, I am missing something. I guess the big thing is I don’t know much about Linux. No matter, I took the long road and I am using two pieces of software, one to sync from Windows to Linux (Truecryt) and one to sync from Windows to Android (BoxCryptor) and I use Bropbox for the cloud in both cases. Both these pieces of software make a Drive on your computer so when I update a file that I want everywhere, I then  just drop that file in both Drives and then everything is synced with Bropbox.

Today is another nice cool day here in Deming, it is great that we are having these days of cooler weather, but it is sure not to last long, with it being near mid May already.

Time for a new bird and this week it is a Northern Cardinal on a rainy day in KY around 6 years ago. I would think that this is a summer rain and I was sating on the pouch with my camera on a tripod and just enjoying myself, I miss those days sometimes but not enough that I want to go back. No, I am never going back, it is just a part of my pass.

This Saturday is not my Monday

This Saturday is not my Monday! While workamping I always worked on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, so Saturday was my Monday all summer long, but not today. I am glad my Saturday is just Saturday today!

RV

Today I will clean the outside of my RV. It is really dirty from all the stuff off the roof yesterday, all that scrubbing of the roof just run down the sides and now needs clean off. Bruce has a pressure washer so that will help a bunch!

4:30 pm; The RV is cleaner then it was at least but still could use some work. Bruce helped me with his pressure washer (Thanks Bruce)! As I work on the RV I realize I was still tired from yesterday’s roof job.

Skype

Draw backs of Skype ……………… you need an internet connection all the time if you want to receive calls and you have to pay for a number. However when it works (you call out ) it is very good and comes with no cost. You do need a half way decent internet connection. Skype to Skype is always free and Skype to a cell or land line is very little cost and you just buy time. The cost is like 3 or 4 cents a minute maybe??? It is a good deal to save money with.

Topped 500 post today;

Hey I just notice that I have made my 500th post! For me to be at a point in life where I will share this much with the world is pretty wild. Most of my life I have not been one to put myself out there at all. The truth is that I am having fun with this silly blog and that is a huge change for me.

The social functions of life has not been a big thing in my life LOL. Guess it is what comes of getting old and senile! ROTFL

Tanks are done

Yaaa hooo the tanks are done! Not the best of jobs to do but it turn out better(easier) than expected.

Phone

My phone service is not so good here on T-mobile. I have started using Skype for some calls but I can not receive calls on it. Guess I’ll make do for a few days.

Bike

Good and bad news ……… one; the good news is that I got in a ten-mile ride today, …………. the bad news is that I took a little fall ………. Ouch !, but not too bad, got a little skin on the arm and knee and a sore wrist, mostly hurt my pride!!! LOL. That patch of gravel was just a little deeper then I thought!

I sure am glad I was by myself so no one could laugh at me………….. (so to all my friends that would have enjoyed watching me fall)

Talking on Skype

Talking on Skype with my friend in Mexico. That went very well! I talk with my air-card connection first and then on the Wi-Fi here in the park. Skype did well on the air-card as long as I did not  cruse the net heavy.

Spent the morning chatting with friends on Skype ……… works pretty damn well. Considering putting it on the computers. My laptop has a camera but the desktop don’t but they are fairly low cost items.

Toys

Always gets me in trouble ………. I have now put Skype on my desktop and added a camera …………….!!! Silly me I like doing this type of thing better than using it. Making things work on a computer is fun. Anyway I am up and running  with video on Skype now LOL…………. so call me girls!

Eating out

I was invited out to eat tonight but as always my eating schedule was off . I will try to catch the next invite!

Exercise

I  need to get it done today because  missed yesterday. It is near 90 out but no matter got to do it! OK I am off to ride my bike.
