Sunshine ….. for now

Pictures: It is so nice to see the nice bright sunshine back out. We had a run of rainy and cloudy days and it is nice to some sunshine even though today is partly cloudy but there is some sunny times to.

More Rain 2 …… or 3

Weather: Rain and lots of it, pretty much rained all night last night and it is very overcast today. Earlier today the weather was making my internet connection do poorly however now it is working fine and we got a little sun peaking through to the boot 🙂

Pictures: Today’s picture is the Lesser Gold Finch and I forget where I took these. They are dated last year so I am going to guess at Storrie Lake State Park ….. the last one at least. The first one … I can’t remember the last time I had a feeder up.

Getting that solar love

Sunshine: We are definitely getting some of that solar love this morning. I love a sunny day even if it is cooler. The weather man is predicting a few of these sunny days in a row and I look forward to that, after all the cloudy ones we had.

Exercise: Just another 2 mile walk. I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 2.46mi, time: 46:07, pace: 18:47min/mi, speed: 3.19mi/h.

Tablet: I’m still liking my new Samsung Tablet, and I find that I use it a lot more than I was thinking I would. It is begaining to be the most use computer type device in the RV, the laptop is getting lonely. While in the boondocks battery life is a big deal and the tablet is doing pretty good, much better than the laptop with it’s 4 year old battery 😆

For this next job I do have to fire up the computer, photo editing. I can post pictures that I already have done but I can’t see trying to edit on a tablet, not yet anyways.

Pictures: Took a little nature walk today(I need to do more of these) and snaped a couple of shots. I’ll have two more shots of these guys tomorrow. Click for bigger images.

Rain and cooler

Weather: The rain has cooled things down and the morning feels cool enough for a jacket. I heard it rain and hail a little last night but it didn’t sound like the hail was very big, I’m glad of that.

Update noon; it is a beautiful day with sunshine and a light wind. The afternoon may bring thunderstorms but that is Okay.

4:30 Update; We got a thunderstorm rolling in, lighting and very dark clouds.

Time for a New “Bird Of The Week”: What will it be … let me look at my old pictures ….. I think it will just be a very common bird from back east and one of my favorites. It will be Blue Jays and they are really fun birds to watch come to the feeders, I use to put out un-shelled peanuts for them everyday and they would come and get one and quickly go hide it and return for another, but as they where getting their second peanut another Blue Jay would be stealing the one they just hid. I use to enjoy their antics for hours, Blue Jays are full of fun personality. I would bet that all the other types of Jays are too but I have not gotten to watch them like I did the Blue Jays. I think it would be fun to have a few bird feeders set up somewhere in the mountains of the southwest and set for hours watching ……., maybe one day I will.

Nice birding here

Weather widget: Odd little thing about my Weather Widget, it will have the high/low as 70 and 41 but than it will have the present temperature as 32, somehow that don’t work out for me, LOL.

The day is starting with sunshine and I hope that stays with us for the day, too many clouds yesterday for my taste.

Update at 3 pm: We are getting some rain.

Birds: I like this place for birding, there are lots of them around. I have been snapping a few shots and maybe I’ll get some pictures posted soon. I’m seeing Jays, Swallows, Bluebirds, Chipping sparrow, Great Blue Herons, Pelicans, Ducks and others I don’t recognize yet. Some let me get close while others are quite shy.

Walk: I think there will be a good walk for me today. I’ll wait for the temperature to come up a little before going. Maybe a trip around the lake? ….. we’ll see. I have the heater on, and I’m quite content to stay nice and toasty, for now. It is only 8 am so maybe by 10 it’ll be a bit warmer, if the sunshine stays with me.

Near 9 am now and I took me a short test walk and the temperature is cool but if I keep moving it’ll be fine, the knee on the other hand is fussing a little, but I think I’ll make the trip around the lake.

11:40 am walk done! It was a bit longer this year with just a little more water in the lake, very little more but enough to stretch the walk out. I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 7.60mi, time: 02:38:07, pace: 20:48min/mi, speed: 2.88mi/h. Nice long walk I iced the knees for a while so maybe tomorrow things won’t be to bad for me with the fussy knees.

No stretching today, maybe tomorrow.

New Bird of the Week: This week I am posting a very recent picture, I took this one yesterday. This is a Mountain Bluebird and I took the picture here at Blue Water State Park. I see these guys every morning, nice. I took a few more shots too, go to my Flickr bird set Here and the last 6 are new. Some of those where taken at the BLM land, south of Grants that I just left.

Red Subjects

Weather: This day has lots of sunshine with some wind, actually the wind is picking up a bit, little harder than I like . The temperatures are just the best and the weather person says it will stay nice all week. Overall I’m liking the weather.

Little road trip: I took a ride into Blythe today to pick up a few food items. While I was out I picked up a load of water too, so my chores are done for today. Life is just too tough 🙂 LOL.

Highlighting subjects: I use to make the first word of my paragraphs the subject and highlight it in red, make it bold and italicized because I know that some people may not want to read about some things, such as weather, (hard to imagine :-P) so when they see the subject they could just jump over it. However when I starting using the tablet more and more I stopped doing that because of the Html code I had to use, it was a bit of a pain to do without a few apps to help. However now with the Clipper clipboard manager it is not so hard to do the code so I have added it back in. Actually, with the mobile WordPress app I could do the bold and italicize but the color was a problem. Clipper makes it just a matter of cut and paste. I am becoming more efficient with this mobile stuff, makes the old dude(me) feel good about being modernized! The body may be older but the brain is staying young 🙂 That my story and I am sticking to it!

Workout Totals for the week: Little less walking this week.  I hate it when things don’t work, the MapMyWalk app did not do well and I see no way to correct it. I walk for about 20 miles total last week and I will walk less this week.

Here is a pictures I took maybe 7 years ago… ?
