Holidays: Holidays, are they done for a while? Oh good!!! Sometimes there is way to much of a good thing 🙂
Blogging: I am starting back blogging today but it might be a bit before I get on track with photos and such. I will at least say Hello and Night Folks each day 🙂 Hey, that is the best I can do for now, LOL.
Texting: Over the last year I have just started to do a little texting … why you ask? Well, seems like over the last year I have run into people who want to do it. Most of the folks I know are older like myself and didn’t want to text, but that seems to be changing a little. What made me think of this is that I just got a text form an old friend that I know just hates anything Smartphone, so if he is willing to texts than it must be catching on with us old folk! Right Barry? LOL.
Firefox: I have always use private browser mode in Firefox but I have learned about an extension Mult-Account Containers that I like even better than private tabs. The extension seems to isolate tabs better when putting tabs in their own container. One of the best things about this is that I can log into both my google accounts and both my Flickr accounts all at the same time and they can’t see each other on Firefox. Helpful when you want to make different setting to like accounts 🙂
Internet: Over the last few months I have had lots of problems with Verizon internet service, I think maybe they have overloaded they network since they have push so hard with they new unlimited plan. Like most big businesses they like to get the customers but hate to do the services, (money for as little effect as possible).
Exercise: I have kept up with my exercise, doing five days a week and taking two off, but I have put on a good amount of weight over the last year and it is making it hard. I’ll keep pushing!
Friends: I have 3 folks in the area that I know from last year. Good to have folks around that you know.
Weight 184.6: Maybe a good walk today will help 🙂 Kidding aside, I’ll really need to keep my weight down to at least 180. I put in a lot of effort to get it off, and I dang well want to keep it off. Going up can happen in the snap of a finger but coming down is another story. I have stayed 5 or 6 pounds over for the last two months now, that has got to go! Today it looks like I’m about 5 pounds over 😦
Maybe I need to get a note pad and stick it to the Refrigerator door, and each day I need to write my weight right on the door! Hey, maybe I could take a picture of my belly and tape that to the refrigerator door. With something like that on the door it should scare me away, LOL.
Walk: Not sure how far I will walk today, it will just be one of those things where I’ll see as I go. I’ll guess 7 miles …. so we’ll see.

TV Antenna: Next weekend I’m going to help a friend install one of the bat-wing antenna on her RV. Should not be too hard of a job. Her RV has one of the little flat round antenna that they are putting on many of the newer RVs and they are not very good. The old bat-wing antenna is still the best all-around antenna for over-the-air TV.
Bird of the week: This weeks bird is a Robin, I took this shot a long time ago in Ky.
Fine stay: This place has been very peaceful this year and not real busy and I have had a great stay for the two plus months that I have been here. I may well come back next year now that I know it is a nice long term options, and again next year is a long way off and I may take a notion to see something different.
Shopping done and as usual I am over my budget, the cost of living just keeps getting higher 😦 but anyway it is done and I am well stocked for the rest of the month, hopefully. My friend Max rode alone with me to Parker and it was nice to have the company. We met up in Quartzsite.
Here is my short walk for the day. I walked with MapMyWalk+! Distance: 2.04mi, time: 37:51, pace: 18:33min/mi, speed: 3.23mi/h.
I added a little stretching to the mix.
Over the last couple of months I have allowed myself two bad meals a month, one on the 15th and on at the end of the month, however this month I am not having the one on the 15th because I am over my target weight of 180 by 5 pounds. No treats for me 😦
The weather is just beautiful, great temperature, mild wind and lots of sunshine.
Good news! I am now in the mind-set that my knee is going to come back to a better place that will allow me to take the longer walks(5 miles + ) that I so much like. Only a week ago I was beginning to wonder whether the knee was going to return to a better state. About 6 weeks ago I did something that ended up causing me a lot of trouble on my replacement knee. What that was I am not totally sure about, maybe too many long walks or that short run(half mile) I took one day when I remember that I had left water on the stove to boil for my tea before going out for that walk. At any rate about six weeks ago a felt some pretty sharp pains in the knee that felt a lot like when I first injured my knee 10 or 12 years ago that ended in a full knee replacement 4 years ago, and this was not a thing I wanted to feel again!
Yesterday I took me a pretty nice little walk a little over 5 miles and today the knee is not fussing too much, a bit, but not bad. Mind you, I am not going out for another long walk today and maybe no walk at all, but the knee feels better than it has since first feeling the sharp pains 6 weeks ago. I may not be out of the woods yet but I am certainly feeling more optimistic about it. Not feeling cocky about it because I know that because it’s feeling good today does not mean that will carry over to tomorrow (that is just the way of old joints) but thinking my chances are better anyways! We’ll see.
The sun is being slow to warm things up this morning but the weatherman says it will. Looks like another cold front is dipping down from the north we may get a little feel of it.
Weight, I am up 5 pounds, I will be attending to that right away! Of course the slacking off from my exercise is not helping and I think maybe my eating habits have not been as good as they could be lately. My weight is a thing I much keep a close watch on. I love to eat, but I have learned to control it over the last 3 years or so, however it is a thing that needs constant vigilance with me. One of the bigger areas I could do better on foods is probably processed meats, such as hotdogs, hamburgers, lunch meats, canned meats and such. I get caught in the easy to fix trap sometimes 😦
I did add a short walk to my day, a slow mile, if that much. Just so I don’t get rusty 🙂 I did some stretching too.
I have really like how ease it is to set up Ubuntu this time, they have come a long way on making it user-friendly. There are some things I have not tried yet but the ones I have been very ease to get going. For example my email, browsers setting (such as bookmarks and password manager), the look and feel of things are just great. Folks this is a free OS (operating system like Windows or Apple) and it has gotten to be very good. I have not yet found any software that I can not get or find an equivalent to and most of my favorites are available, such as; Firefox, Thunderbird, Plug-ins for the before mentioned, Keepass ( I had to change-up the version a little form 1.x to 2.x), and many others.
I will relax today and enjoy the doing of nothing. I like that at least once a week. 🙂
Weight; I am still fighting the 190 mark, I go up a bit and down a bit, staying at or near the 190 mark but I am staying on my diet and I keep on exercising so maybe I get some pay off in the end. Just 10 lbs to go to make my gold.
My computer now has 4 Hard-Drives in it, LOL. In the end I think it will only have 3 but in the change over(Windows 7 to Windows 8) it will have 4 for a bit. The last 3 will have Windows 8 on one drive(1 TB), the second dives(640 MB) will be a back up dive and them I will have Ubuntu on a third drive. Something I need to look for is a boot manager that will install and remove easily. I caused myself a lot of trouble the last time I took out Ubuntu and the boot manager, it kind of fried my Windows install. I had to reinstall Windows, I didn’t care for that. Of course, I will keep Windows 7 on one hard drive for a while or at least till I know I am going to be happy with Windows 8, at this point I see no problem.
This morning I put the version 2 of Keepass on all my computers.
Good Morning from my humble little RV, I hope that all is well with everyone on this Sunday Morning and that life is the best it can be for everyone in all possible worlds! Today will be my normal lazy Sunday and so it is time to relax and enjoy the nothingness of the day. I started the day by going out to eat a nice buffet breakfast and it was good for a change. Oh I did stay on my diet 🙂 .
Diet/Weight; as I said above I am staying on my diet and hopefully, I will have a celebration some times this month. I celebrate every 10 lbs, so wish me luck and send me some good will power vibes, OK?
Exercise; As mention above it is lazy Sunday so no exercise today, we’ll let the body rest today. I may take a very short walk and stretching a little if I get really bored. Maybe not. It is lazy Sunday and I have a choice, nice!
Computers; Today I will again work on becoming more familiar with Windows 8. One of the things I am doing beside just playing around with Windows 8 is working my way through these 50 tips. I have read them and now I am doing them on the computer. Think I will do some of that now.

Weight,exercise and diet, I am doing OK on all these but it could be better. My exercise is very good I think, I am staying with my diet and the weight is in a very slow mode. I knew that the last 20 lbs would be hard, the last 20 always is. I am keeping up the good fight with diet and exercise so that is about all I can do. I staying under 200 but I sure ain’t moving very fast in the downward direction. This morning I rode my 10 miles on the bike and it was a good ride, I did a good round of stretching when I got done. I kind of come and go on the stretching thing but I have been with it long enough this time that is paying off a little, I feel stretched, LOL.
VA; Tomorrow I will be off to the VA for an appointment for my blood work. It is a good long drive. My appointment is late in the day (near 4 pm) and I will be getting back late, would have been better to have it around noon or so.
